CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Wellesley College fencing squad secured three victories at the first New England Conference Meet of the season on Saturday at MIT. The Blue opened the day with back-to-back defeats at the hands of MIT and Brown before bouncing back against UMass. The Blue took 6-3 victories in both foil and epee and won three bouts in sabre to hang on for a 15-12 team victory versus the Minutemen.

Brandeis and Sacred Heart then went on to defeat the Blue by identical 18-9 finals, despite the Blue taking a 5-4 victory in foil versus the Judges and a 5-4 victory in epee versus the Pioneers.
