  • Wellesley Crew’s Lock Named to CRCA/Pocock All-America First Team

    Wellesley College crew student-athlete Loren Lock (Fond du Lac, Wis.) has been named to the 2015 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Pocock Division III All-America First Team, the CRCA announced on Tuesday evening.
  • 14 from Blue Crew Recognized as ECAC Announces All-Academic Team

    The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Stewards All-Academic Team today and 14 members of the Wellesley College Crew team were among the recipients. A total of 321 student-athletes from 24 institutions earned the distinction for the 2014-2015 academic year.

    The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the postseason awards for women's rowing on Tuesday afternoon, following the conference championship regatta over the weekend. Wellesley College head coach, Tessa Spillane, was voted as the NEWMAC Coach of the Year, after helping guide the Blue to their fifth consecutive league title. WPI won the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award, as voted on by the conference's student-athletes.

    Wellesley College Crew finished with the top time in all four events to capture the 29th Annual Seven Sisters Rowing Championship on Sunday morning on Boston’s Charles River. The race featuring host Wellesley, Bryn Mawr College, Simmons College, Mount Holyoke College and Smith College spanned the Charles River from Magazine Beach to the famed finished line of the Head Of The Charles Regatta at Christian A. Herter Park.
