Rebecca Kimball is entering her fifth year as Wellesley's Butler Director of Sports Performance and Fitness and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice in 2017-18. Kimball currently supervises 13 varsity sports as well as the student fitness and wellness program.
Kimball joined Wellesley after two stints at Division-III colleges in Maine and seven years at Southern Illinois University (DI) serving as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Her primary responsibilities at Southern included designing and implementing programs for women's basketball, volleyball, softball and assisting with football.
Kimball is a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as a certified Level I coach through United States Weightlifting (USAW). In 2008, she received her massage therapy license and is board certified through the NCBTMB. Kimball serves on the NSCA State Advisory Board for Massachusetts and is actively involved in the National Association for Collegiate Women in Athletics Administration (NACWAA).
Kimball holds a BS from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Health and Fitness from the College of Nursing and a Masters from Springfield College with a degree in applied exercise science with a concentration in strength and conditioning.
Kimball spent time as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at Springfield, as well as an intern strength coach at the University of Connecticut, University of Maryland and Mike Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning.
